One of DARDA's main objectives is the preservation of Dominica's rich cultural heritage here in America.

The National Day Celebration is planned so that parents, children, family and friends can come together in a great cultural experience to enjoy our music, traditional dances, stories and national dress.  This celebration helps to promote a greater understanding of Dominica's rich heritage.  Proceeds from the celebration benefit various needy causes in Dominica.

DARDA’s annual Toy Drive is a continuous effort by Dominicans living in America to bring the joy of Christmas to less fortunate children of the island of Dominica.

Toys are collected each year and shipped to the island at Christmastime to be distributed among the poor villages.

DARDA collects toys and cash donations year round.  Click here for more information or contact Lisa McIntyre (Chairperson) at LTMC776@hotmail.com.

Committed to promoting literacy and education in Dominica, DARDA has developed an annual School Supply Drive targeting schools in underprivileged villages throughout Dominica.  DARDA will select a number of students and provide each one with a book bag filled with school supplies for the entire school year.

To make a donation or for more information, please click here or contact Janelle McIntyre (Chairperson) at janelle.mcintyre@gmail.com.

Now, more than ever, you can help make a difference in the lives of children in Dominica, West Indies by exposing them to the magical world that books provide.

DARDA is currently collecting children's books (new or mint condition) for its annual Book Drive.  Your contribution of one or more books will be donated to the Dominica Public Library System and will be the beginning step in the development of Book Collections for various parts of the island.

DARDA collects books and cash donations year round.  For more information, please contact Nicole Phillips-Sharpe (Chairperson) at nicole.sharpe@nyu.edu.
